One-Week Job Opportunity at Bible School PLUS
June 14 - 18, 2010
Bible School Plus is a one-week recreational program for elementary age children that allows for a full day of care for children attending Bible School. Counselors are needed to help plan and supervise activities for the children. As a minimum, applicants must have completed 10th grade with preference given to the most mature candidates. Scholarship Opportunity
Midland First United Methodist Church has a long tradition of placing a high value on youth and education.
In seeking to encourage a lifelong commitment to Jesus Christ and the pursuit of higher education, we are pleased to announce that we will be awarding our First United Methodist Scholarship this spring . The scholarship being awarded is the Dorothy (Dee Dee) Dickert Scholarship, given in memory of Dorothy Dickert.
This is a $1000 scholarship, with the following minimum requirements.
You must:
- be accepted to an accredited college, university, trade or technical school
- be a graduating high school senior or high school graduate
- have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
While the scholarships are primarily intended for graduating seniors or first time college students, current college students are also eligible.
Applications can be picked up at the church office starting February 7. Completed applications must be postmarked or returned to Rev. Jeremy Africa by April 15. The Scholarship Committee will then select the recipient from all eligible applicants.
